Terms and Conditions (Storage Host)

These Terms and Conditions outline the rules and guidelines that govern the use of our storage services for StoreIT Storage Hosts. It is important that you read and understand these terms to ensure a smooth and hassle-free experience. By using StoreIT, you agree to comply with these terms.

Storage Host Policy Guidelines

StoreIT's Responsibilities

  • StoreIT operates an online platform that enables Customers and Storage Host to match and arrange storage bookings after the customers payment. StoreIT is not the owner, landlord or property manager for any space leased by Storage Host on StoreIT's platform.
  • StoreIT acts solely as an intermediary for matching customers and storage hosts based on distance proximity, number of items and storage duration.
  • Storage Host and Customer understand and agree that their relationship with StoreIT is that of independent parties, not partners with StoreIT. StoreIT has no control over the conduct of Storage Host and disclaims all liability arising from such conduct.

Storage Host's Responsibilities

  • As a Storage Host, you are responsible for your actions as well as any individuals you allow into your storage space.
  • Storage Host agrees to take reasonable measures to protect stored items with the security features stated in the Storage Host verification form.
  • Storage Host must cooperate fully with StoreIT when requested, including providing information about storage space, security measures and any incidents of damage, theft or disputes.

Audit and Compliance Policy

  • StoreIT reserves the right to audit Storage Host listings at any time to verify the accuracy of provided information in the Storage Host Verification Form.
  • Storage Host must fully cooperate, including providing access to relevant documents and allowing site visits.
  • Any discrepancies found will lead to immediate termination of Storage Host status.
  • All Customer's items must be stored at the approved and listed storage space. StoreIT is not liable for missing or damaged items resulting from non-compliance with the security requirements outlined in Storage Host Verification Form.

Theft, robbery, or property damage is illegal

  • Storage Host will be penalised under the prevailing laws in case of any theft, robbery, or vandalism of items.

Illegal items, drugs, weapons, and hazardous materials are prohibited.

A list of prohibited items is stated below. Please notify us immediately if you suspect prohibited items are stored. The list of items is stated below:

  • Animals, plants, or any other living things
  • Corrosive, explosive, or flammable materials
  • Any hazardous items subject to legal control

Theft of Stored Items

  • Storage Host will not be held liable for the theft or loss of Stored Items if:
    • A police report is filed, and the authorities confirm evidence of unlawful or forced entry and
    • Storage Host has not contributed to the theft through negligence or intentional misconduct (e.g., failing to use locks or security measures provided at the Space)
  • Both the Storage Host and the Customer acknowledge that StoreIT is not responsible or liable for the theft or loss of Stored Items.

Compliance with Storage Space Guidelines

  • Customer's items must be stored in a storage space with proper security measures as stated in the StoreIT Storage Host Verification Form. StoreIT takes no responsibility for missing or damaged goods if these guidelines are not followed.

Responsibilities and Indemnity

  • Both Customer and Storage Host agree that StoreIT is not liable to any losses, costs, or legal claims that result from their violations of these Terms and Conditions or negligence on their part.

Insurance

  • StoreIT does not provide insurance coverage to Storage Host or customer.
  • Both Storage Host and Customer are solely responsible for arranging their insurance to protect against damages or losses, including damage to stored items or property.

Items Storage Complicance Guideline

  • Storage Host has the right to inspect items on Storage Check In date and may reject any prohibited items.
  • Storage Host must not open any storage items after the inspection process.

Storage Space Condition and Maintenance

  • Storage Host is responsible for keeping the storage space clean, safe, and in proper condition, including taking reasonable precautions to prevent water damage, mould, fire risks, and pest infestations.
  • Storage Host agrees to follow local laws and safety rules to maintain a safe environment.

Penalty Fee

Customer will be penalised if their items exceed the stipulated dimensions as stated.

  • $5 per item exceeding 10 cm in either length, breadth, or height
  • Customer is to pay the penality fees to the Storage Host directly.

Payment

  • Half of the payment will be released only after both the Storage Host and the Customer have uploaded photos of the items to the platform on the Storage Check In Date.
  • The remaining payment will be issued once the Customer indicated on StoreIT Telegram bot that they have collected their items on Storage Check Out Date.

Storage Guidelines

  • Storage Host is advised to stack no more than 2 boxes/luggage.
  • Storage Host is advised not to stack any items labelled as fragile.

Transportation

  • StoreIT does not provide transportation services. All transportation arrangements must be made directly between the Customer and the Storage Host.

Upload Photo for Storage Confirmation

  • On Storage Check In Date, Storage Host must upload a photo of stored items to the StoreIT Telegram bot. This protects your interests in case of disputes. This protects Storage Host in case of any discrepancy.

4 Hour Offer Acceptance

  • If Storage Host does not accept the storage offer within 4 hours, the opportunity will be offered to another Storage Host.

Respect customer's privacy

  • Storage Host must not open customer's items during the storage period

Handling of Disputes

  • Any disagreement or dispute between the Storage Host and rhe Customer must be resolved directly between the two parties.
  • StoreIT role is solely as a platform provider and does not include dispute resolution or mediation between users.
  • Both the Storage Host and the Customer understand and accept that any private agreements they make do not override the obligations they each have under these StoreIT Terms and Conditions.
